Metadeets
Everything you can encounter in DEETS++ is registered internally in the metadeets.
You can think of the metadeets as a giant library of dictionaries that hold almost everything the game has to offer in lists and pools. These things include:
- Items
- Clothing
- Rooms
- Floors
- Minigames
- Finales
- NPCs
- Prefabs
- Death Screens
Internally, these types are stored in the DEETS.Game.Content namespace. The metadeets also holds all of the pools in the game, as well as the list of mod IDs registered. The base game’s ID is deets.
Rarities
Section titled “Rarities”Internally, there are seven rarities in the game:
- Undefined
- Common
- Uncommon
- Rare
- Epic
- Legendary
- Unstable
Anything that’s Undefined is generally not a valid type. You shouldn’t assign anything Undefined unless you know what you’re doing.
Content
Section titled “Content”Items are the main type of collectible in the game. They have rarities and can be found in a lot of ways in the main game. They can also be unlocked if a player completes a run / collects a DEETS.
Clothing
Section titled “Clothing”Clothes are a type of item in the game. They serve as permanent abilities / buffs. Some of them can be activated through a button / key. They’re available as either hats, shirts, pants or shoes.
If a floor chooses the default map generation system the game has, then that map has to be strung together using rooms. They are scenes with specified grid sizes and misc. other properties to tell the map how to string these rooms together and what to keep track of.
Floors
Section titled “Floors”Floors are the main attraction of each run– every run consists of a few floors and then a finale. They usually have a condition before it lets you leave them.
Minigames
Section titled “Minigames”Minigames are time wasters. They don’t influence a run at all and can be optionally played outside of a run if so desired.
Finales
Section titled “Finales”Finales are a type of floor– they contain a boss fight that once beat trigger the self-destruct sequence of the run.
